HAND STITCHED COTTON PATCHWORK QUILT
SPECIAL ONE OFF QUILT:
In 2020, I decided to use the time at home to start AND FINISH a hand stitched patchwork quilt.
I ordered some Indian hand blocked printed cotton cloth and waited weeks for the transporters to get the go ahead to fly again.
Then the rectangles began to be stitched together..then the rows, and then the double layers formed, and then the "case" and then the padding of bamboo, wool cotton batting, was sandwiched between the two layers.
It took exactly one year to complete.
12 months of the first year of COVID.
And now it's done.
A Corona Commemorative Blanket.
It's 118cm wide x 326cm
(1.8metres x 3.26 metres)
And is ready to go to a loving home, one that will embrace all the quirks, wobbles and beautiful imperfections.
It's going on the website now.
